P-TECH in Cybersecurity

Earn an Associate in Applied Science with a Cybersecurity Specialization

What is Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity refers to a set of techniques used to protect the integrity of networks, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. Do you have Facebook? What about Snapchat? These apps send and receive personal data from you. What if someone found a way to gain access to your information without your permission? Individuals in Cybersecurity make sure that your personal information stays protected from malicious use.

What is P-TECH?

Northeast Early College High School is leading Central Texas in creating a program in Information Technology that focuses on Cybersecurity. The P-TECH program at Northeast ECHS is designed to provide students with free college classes at Austin Community College (ACC) and the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree in Applied Science with a specialization in Cybersecurity. While completing classes, students will also be able to obtain industry certifications that will allow them to work immediately after high school.

Industry Partnership

In addition, Northeast ECHS has partnered with information technology leader, DELL, to provide our students with genuine experiences in mentoring, work place learning, and internships. With DELL being our industry partner, students are able to gain valuable insight into the real world of information technology and cybersecurity.

Innovative Learning Spaces

Northeast ECHS has completely changed the environment in which innovative learning takes place. In P-TECH, you won’t be sitting in desks and in rows. You’ll be learning in an environment that looks exactly like technology companies. You can look forward to the latest technology at your fingerprints and furniture that is not only comfortable, but moves the way you need it to move.
